Review: Schick Hydro Silk® Disposables

*FTC Disclaimer* I received this product for free to test and review. The opinions that follow are my own, and are not influenced by any entity.

I was definitely a little skeptical going in to this Bzzagent campaign. I have used Venus razors for since high school, with no inclination to switch. Although in that time, I have tried a few new razors, I always gave them away and went back to my old faithful Venus.
The last time I tried a Schick razor, I ended up with a red rash all over my legs. Once the rash healed and I could begin shaving again, I swore I would not buy another razor other than Venus. I have held true to that.

When Bzzagent gave me the chance to try out Schick Hydro Silk® Disposables I wavered a bit, but ultimately decided it was worth a try. When the box got here, I opened it up and used one that very night. Initially, I thought "well, this is pretty nice.." Aside from the handle feeling odd to me (likely just due to being different from the skinnier Venus razor I use) it gave me a good, close shave. I was a little unsure about the serum on the razor head, too. This was the very thing which had caused my discomfort so many years before! However, this time there were no issues with an itchy rash. (Whew!!)
I'm not sure that I really feel moisturized any more than after any other shave though, my legs still felt dry and in need of lotion. Which I ended up having to apply.

Another aspect I want to mention, is how delighted I am by the length of time the serum is lasting! I am going on over a week of using the same razor, and there is still serum each time! That's super impressive to me because I would have expected it to be good through 2-3 shaves and then have to shave minus the gel on the head!

I'm definitely pleased with the Schick Hydro Silk® Disposables, and I will consider them as an alternative purchase for my shaving needs in the future!
